On 15 April 2021, deputies of the House of Representatives Aleksandr Danchenko and Igor Martynov took part in online meetings of the IPA CIS Joint Commission on the Harmonization of Legislation in the Field of Security and Countering New Challenges and Threats, as well as the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues.
During the meetings, a number of draft model laws and recommendations were considered. It was decided to approve the draft model law «On National Security», which should define the legal basis, the national security system, goals, objectives, and control in the field of its provision. The document will be sent to the parliaments of the IPA CIS Member States to obtain conclusions.
Also during the meetings, a draft Model Methodology for assessing initiatives in the field of regulating the circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors was considered. The work on this document was recognized as completed and the members of the commission decided to submit it to the plenary session of the IPA CIS.
In addition, the parliamentarians approved the draft law «On the Common System of Calling Emergency Services».
