On 9 January 2020, Andrei Savinykh, the Chairman of the House of Representatives’ Standing Commission on International Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus addressed the media with a statement on behalf of the Standing Commission on the signing of the Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union on visas facilitation.
Andrei Savinykh has noted that the Standing Commission on International Affairs welcomes the fact of signing the Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the European Union on visa facilitation on 8 January 2020 in Brussels.
The parliamentarian expressed confidence that the Agreement would help to simplify reciprocal travel between the countries, develop international contacts and attract tourists and foreign investments to this country, and also strengthen the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding between the peoples.
The Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs has informed journalists that Belarusian parliamentarians, being greatly interested in the early entry of the Agreement into force, are ready to ratify it as a priority at the upcoming second session of the House of Representatives and call on their colleagues from the European Parliament to follow their example as well.
